About Wedding Cakes
As owner, designer and artist I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration. During the course of my studies my sisters Wilton Cake Decorating Yearbook sparked my interest in wedding cake designing and custom decorating. The fire was lit and I enrolled in a renowned Vocational Institute in my home country where I earned a second degree in Catering and Hotel Management, with extensive courses in baking, decorating, custom fondant designs and gum paste flower arrangements.
I started a small wedding cake business that quickly grew into a very successful company in my city. As my name and talents became recognized, I supplied hand crafted sugar art gum paste flowers and other confectionary decorations to many wedding cake makers. I also taught various classes in wedding and celebration cake decorating, and the art of flower making in my city.
In 2004 I moved to London, where I studied and mastered European wedding cake decorating techniques.
In May 2005 I made South Portland, Maine my home with my husband. This is how and where the story and adventures of New England Couture Cakes begins...
